Advocacy for funding of USACE Basin & Channel Improvements:
• Met with USACE Washington D.C. Staff and Office of Management and Budget at Congressman Gene Green’s office. OMB rep said they would flag project for inclusion in President’s FY 13 budget. Also follow up meeting with Col. Christopher Sallese at District office in Galveston.
• Funding will have to come through inclusion in President’s budget since there are no longer special appropriations.
• Next Steps: Continued outreach. Waiting for budget release in February, plan follow up visits in D.C. in March/April.
• Special Event: GBCC Master Plan Executive Summary to be released Feb. 16th event at St. Arnold Brewery, full master plan at March 27th annual meeting. (Col. Sallese will be keynote speaker.)

Canoe Launch Park:
• Parking lot area cleared, graded, rocked
• Next Step/Event: Site clean-up event in conjunction with San Jacinto North Campus biology staff and students on Feb. 10th
